An optical prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. Optical prisms are used to scatter, bend and deviate light beams at specific angles by reflecting them off one or more surfaces. Optical prisms are made from a variety of materials, including optical glass, crystal glasses, and quartz. The material used for a prism depends on the specific application and the desired properties of the prism. We can and do grind and polish depending on the application and desired effect. We manufacture some of the most challenging prisms in the world. A wide range of stock and custom optical prisms are available, including: , , , , special shaped prisms. Each has a specific shape to achieve the reflection needed to perform a specific optical task.

A rhombic prism is used to display a beam laterally without changing it is direction. It can be coated to transmit part of the beam and produces two parallel and displaced emerging beams. It also can be coated to produce a polarizing beam separator. Dimension and coating are available by custom orders.
